Welcoming Baby Vincent: A Cozy Lifestyle Newborn Session at Home


There’s something so special about stepping into a family's home to capture those first cherished days with their newborn. I recently had the joy of photographing Amanda, Chris, their two-year-old Graeme, and their newest little love, Vincent, in a cozy lifestyle newborn session right in their beautifully decorated nursery— the very same nursery that Graeme once called his own.


This session was extra special because I had the honor of capturing Graeme’s newborn photos two years ago. Seeing him now as a proud big brother, full of energy and curiosity, made my heart melt. At first, he wasn’t so sure about sharing Mom and Dad, but he has started to warm up to his baby brother. During the session, he even gave Vincent a couple of adorable kisses, a heartwarming sign of their growing bond. It’s always amazing to witness families growing and evolving, and this was no exception.


It was especially meaningful to see Vincent in the same crib and room where Graeme once slept, making this session feel like a beautiful continuation of their family's story. We spent the morning documenting all those tiny moments: Vincent snoozing peacefully in his parents' arms, Graeme peeking over at his little brother with fascination, and the whole family soaking in these fleeting early days together.


One of my favorite parts of this session was seeing Amanda’s love for preserving these memories. She has Graeme’s newborn portraits, which I took two years ago, proudly displayed in their dining room. And now, with these heartwarming sibling images, I have a feeling she’ll be making a little more room on those walls! It’s such a joy knowing that these moments will be cherished for years to come.


Lifestyle newborn sessions are truly about capturing the love, connection, and little everyday moments that make these early days so special. Thank you, Amanda and Chris, for welcoming me into your home again—it’s always such a privilege to document your growing family. Welcome to the world, baby Vincent! You are so loved already.
